Celebrating the 22nd Noosa Jazz Festival
The Noosa Heads Jazz Club will be organising and funding the “Classic Jazz”
side of the festival which will be known as the Noosa Jazz Party in the
tradition of the original Noosa Show in 1992.
The jazz party idea
was started by a New York businessman, Dick Gibson, who moved to Denver in
1960, missed the jazz he had heard in New York, and in 1963 over the Labor
Day weekend hired ten world class jazz men to play in Aspen for paying
guests.
Our Noosa Jazz party will once again bring together the cream of Australia’s
jazz musicians to form carefully combined groups for your listening
pleasure. It’s a four day feast of the best Classic Jazz the country can
provide.
We will provide a shuttle bus from Hastings Street to the hall via the Noosa
Junction. The club volunteers are on hand to help you enjoy this special
weekend. We offer a Budget Bar so NO BYO.
Tasty fresh meals and snacks are available at the venue until about 8.30 from
Noosa Catering, from $10.
The Party Venue is The Bicentennial Hall which has recently had extensive
acoustic modifications, now it really is the home of Jazz!
Tickets Prices are for 6 hours of jazz per night, 4pm to 10pm Early bird
special available from 17th June to 30th July, $120 Ticket for all 4 nights.
Individual nights $35. Ph 0754472229 have your credit card ready
There’s plenty
happening at the
Noosa Jazz Festival this year. The Noosa Heads Jazz Club, true to the roots
of the festival’s history, has put much effort into the project, showcasing
the Classic foundations in which the Festival was built. These elements will
feature again in 2013 along with the popular official participating
restaurants, daily river cruises, intimate venues and large outdoor concerts
that have formed the foundation of the Festival over its 22-year history.
We are pleased to welcome to her first Noosa Jazz Party, star vocalist
Tricia Evy from France. Tricia will perform as part of the ensemble
throughout the party, however there will be two special performances on
Friday and Saturday nights at the party venue along with a fathers Day lunch
(see program) at the Riverdeck Restaurant located overlooking the Noosa
River at Tewantin.

Riverdeck also
hosts a Friday lunch with Stevensons Rockets (Melbourne) and Saturday with
the Shuffle Club. (Melbourne) See Program. for
